Gold Silver Price Today (24 Oct 2026)

Gold Silver Price Today (24 Oct 2026): No IBJA Fix on Saturday; 24K ₹14,258/g in Mumbai, Silver Retail ₹2.2 Lakh

There is no IBJA rate for today. The India Bullion and Jewellers Association does not publish its benchmark on Saturdays, so this gold silver price today report for 24 October 2026 uses two things: GoodReturns’ city retail quotes dated 24 October, and IBJA’s last fix, the Friday 23 October evening (PM) rate, as the benchmark. On that Friday fix, 24-carat (999) gold was ₹1,41,630 per 10 grams and silver 999 was ₹1,94,415 a kg.

Gold silver price today: city retail rates (GoodReturns, 24 Oct)

GoodReturns’ city pages are dated 24 October 2026; we read them at about 11:40 PM IST. The change in brackets is against its 23 October quote. Its Mumbai silver quote is ₹2,20,000 a kg, unchanged from Friday. These are indicative rates from a news site, exclude GST and making charges, and can be revised.

IBJA’s site states that rates “are not published on Central Govt. Holidays & SAT/SUN”. Its dated list now shows 23 October as the latest day, and its headline 999 rate of ₹14,163 a gram matches the 23 October PM fix. Rates exclude 3% GST and making charges.

Within Friday, gold recovered a little (PM ₹182 above AM) while silver kept falling (PM ₹612 below AM).

A rough week for both metals

IBJA 999 PM fix ₹ per 10g
16 Oct 1,46,426
19 Oct 1,45,944
21 Oct 1,44,105
22 Oct 1,42,694
23 Oct 1,41,630

Across the week (20 October was a holiday), 24K gold lost ₹4,796 per 10 grams, or 3.28%, on our calculation. Silver fell from ₹2,09,467 on the 19 October AM fix to ₹1,94,415 on Friday evening. Our 22 October report has Thursday’s full table.

Retail vs benchmark

  • 24K: Mumbai retail works out to ₹1,42,580 per 10g, ₹950 (0.67%) above Friday’s IBJA PM fix. Delhi, at ₹1,42,730, is ₹1,100 (0.78%) above.
  • 22K: ₹1,30,700 in Mumbai vs ₹1,29,733 at IBJA, a gap of ₹967 (0.75%).
  • Silver: ₹2,20,000 retail vs ₹1,94,415 at IBJA, a gap of ₹25,585 a kg (13.16%).

The gold gap is narrow and normal. The silver gap is not. Retail silver looks to be trailing the falling benchmark. If you are buying silver this weekend, ask the dealer which reference rate they use and get the per-kg rate in writing.

Sample 22K jewellery bill (Mumbai retail rate)

10 grams of 22K ₹
Gold value at ₹13,070/g 1,30,700
Making charge at 10% (assumed) 13,070
GST at 3% on gold plus making 4,313
Total 1,48,083

This is our illustration. Making charges vary widely by design and shop, and some jewellers charge per gram rather than a percentage. Check the BIS hallmark and six-digit HUID on every piece; our guide on how much gold you can keep at home covers the paperwork side.

Why prices fell this week

Domestic prices track world prices and the rupee. News reports linked this week’s weakness to expectations of higher interest rates abroad, with crude oil near $114 a barrel on Friday after attacks on Saudi oil facilities, according to BusinessLine. Higher expected rates tend to weigh on gold, which pays no interest. The rupee closed at 94.93 to the dollar on Friday, as reported by BusinessLine. We do not forecast prices.

Weekend buyer checklist

  • Compare any quote with IBJA’s last 999 rate of about ₹14,163 a gram before GST.
  • For 22K jewellery, ask for the gold rate, making charge and GST as three separate lines.
  • If you only want price exposure, gold ETFs track the metal without making charges; our Dhanteras gold guide compares the options.

IBJA’s next fix should come on Monday, 26 October, unless it is a holiday.
