Amazon Great Indian Festival 2026 Bank Offers: 10% Off on SBI Cards From 8 October, Plus ICICI and Pay Later Cashback
The Amazon Great Indian Festival 2026 opens to all customers on 8 October, and the main bank deal is a 10% instant discount on SBI credit cards, SBI debit cards and SBI credit card EMI, according to Amazon’s festival announcement. Early Deals are already live on Amazon.in. Amazon has also listed unlimited 5% cashback for Prime members on the Amazon Pay ICICI Bank credit card, 10% cashback on a range of Amazon Pay Later purchases, and up to 10% extra savings for Prime members on select offers. What Amazon has not published yet is the maximum discount per SBI card or the minimum order value.
Flipkart’s Big Billion Days runs alongside it, with early access on 8 October and the full sale from 9 October. The two sales use different banks, so the card in your wallet decides which one gives you the bigger cut.

Amazon published a second note on 2 October listing smartphone deals that are already live ahead of the festival, several of them priced “including bank discount”, which means the price you see assumes you pay with an eligible SBI card.
Every bank and payment offer Amazon has confirmed
These are the Amazon Great Indian Festival 2026 payment offers as Amazon describes them. Terms such as caps, eligible products and minimum order sizes sit on the product and offer pages.
| Payment method | Offer | What we still don’t know |
|---|---|---|
| SBI credit cards, debit cards and credit card EMI | 10% instant discount | Per-card cap, minimum order value, excluded cards |
| Amazon Pay ICICI Bank credit card | Unlimited 5% cashback for Prime members, 3% for others; welcome rewards up to ₹2,500; no joining or annual fee | Paid as Amazon Pay balance, not cash |
| Amazon Pay Later | 10% cashback on “a host of purchases”; pay in 3 interest-free EMIs on carts of ₹1,500 and above with zero processing fee | Which products qualify for the cashback |
| Amazon Pay balance | Flat ₹20 cashback on orders of ₹300 and above in fashion, beauty and home and kitchen | None significant |
| Prime members with Amazon Pay ICICI card | Up to 15% off with 5% cashback on flights and hotels | Booking dates covered |
Mint also reports a separate 35% cashback offer capped at ₹150, subject to terms. Amazon’s own announcement does not mention it, so treat it as a small bonus at best. Gadgets Now reports that Prime members also get ₹250 extra cashback on eligible purchases, and that Prime Deals start ahead of the main sale.
How much can the Amazon SBI card offer actually save?
The banner says 10%. The real number depends on the cap, and SBI Card has not posted the festival terms yet. The closest guide is SBI Card’s own terms for Amazon’s Prime Day sale from 4 to 6 July 2026, which used the same 10% headline.
| Prime Day 2026 SBI credit card terms | Mobiles | Other categories |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum transaction value | ₹4,990 | ₹4,990 |
| Maximum base discount per card, full payment | ₹750 | ₹1,250 |
| Maximum base discount per card, EMI | ₹1,000 | ₹1,500 |
| Bonus discounts on larger single orders | Up to ₹7,500 per card, each slab usable once | |
| Overall ceiling for the sale | ₹12,000 per card | |
Those July terms also excluded corporate cards, the Cashback SBI Card, Paytm SBI and Flipkart SBI cards, and RuPay credit card payments made through UPI. They said reward points could be forfeited on non-EMI transactions that got the discount. The festival version may be more generous or less, so treat the table as a pattern to look for, and read the offer box on the product page before paying.
What the pattern shows: on a ₹40,000 phone, “10% off” did not mean ₹4,000 off in July. The base discount on mobiles stopped at ₹750, or ₹1,000 if you chose EMI, with bonus slabs adding to that on bigger orders. EMI got the higher cap, which is worth remembering if you were going to split the payment anyway.
Debit card, credit card or EMI?
Amazon says the Amazon SBI card offer covers debit cards as well as credit cards, which helps anyone who does not want to put a big purchase on credit. If you choose credit card EMI to get the higher cap, the bank still charges interest unless the listing is marked no cost, and there is usually a processing fee. Our guide to no cost EMI and its hidden charges works through the numbers.
Amazon Pay ICICI cashback or the SBI discount?
On smaller orders the SBI discount usually wins, as long as it is under the cap. Take ₹6,000 earbuds: 10% off is ₹600 at checkout, while 5% cashback on the Amazon Pay ICICI card is ₹300, credited later as Amazon Pay balance. On big orders the cap decides. If SBI’s festival cap on a laptop turns out to be close to the July figure, 5% back on a ₹60,000 laptop, which is ₹3,000, could beat the base discount, though bonus slabs can change that. Work out 5% of the price, compare it with the discount shown at checkout, and pick the bigger number.
Cashback lands as Amazon Pay balance, so it only has full value if you spend on Amazon regularly. We compare this card with other cashback cards in our guide to the best credit card for online shopping.
Amazon or Flipkart: which card for which sale
| Sale | Bank instant discount | Co-branded card | Starts |
|---|---|---|---|
| Amazon Great Indian Festival 2026 | SBI credit and debit cards, credit card EMI: 10% | Amazon Pay ICICI: 5% (Prime) or 3% | 8 October |
| Flipkart Big Billion Days 2026 | Axis Bank and ICICI Bank cards: up to 10% | Flipkart Axis Bank card: 10% listed separately | 8 October (early access), 9 October |
Mint notes that Flipkart usually shows its discount cap on the offer banner at checkout rather than announcing it in advance, and that neither company has published the full exclusion list. We covered the Flipkart side in detail, including the Axis and ICICI terms, in our post on Big Billion Days 2026 bank offers.
Before you pay during the sale
A few checks catch most problems. Look at the price history before buying, since some prices are raised before sale discounts; Gadgets Now says Amazon’s Rufus assistant shows a 30- to 90-day price history and can alert you when a product reaches a target price. That matters this year for air conditioners and TVs, after makers raised prices from October, as we reported in the AC and TV price hike. Check which card the offer box names and whether yours is on the excluded list. Compare the final payable amount for full payment against EMI, because the bank discount can differ between the two.
Credit limits matter too. A credit card EMI blocks the full purchase amount from your limit on day one and releases it as you repay, so a large festival buy can leave little room for anything else that month.
FAQ: Amazon Great Indian Festival 2026
When does the Amazon Great Indian Festival 2026 start?
On 8 October for all customers. Early Deals are already live.
Does the SBI 10% discount work on debit cards?
Yes. Amazon lists SBI credit cards, debit cards and credit card EMI. Your card type still has to be eligible on the specific product page.
What is the maximum discount on the SBI offer?
Not published yet. During Prime Day in July, SBI Card capped the base discount at ₹750 to ₹1,500 per card depending on category and payment type, with a ₹12,000 overall ceiling.
Can I combine the SBI discount with Amazon Pay ICICI cashback?
No, not on one payment. Each transaction goes on one card, so pick the one that saves more on that order.
Disclaimer: Offer details are as published by Amazon and reported by Mint and Gadgets Now up to 3 October 2026; SBI Card’s July 2026 terms are shown only as a guide to how caps have worked. Final terms appear on Amazon.in and may change during the sale.
