PM Kisan 24th Installment Date

PM Kisan 24th Installment Date: When Will ₹2,000 Come? Status Check, eKYC

Every few days, my uncle in a village outside Sitapur calls to ask the same thing: “Kisan wala paisa kab aayega?” He’s got the kharif harvest to manage, a tractor rental to pay off and Diwali on the way, so ₹2,000 lands at a useful moment. If you’re asking about the PM Kisan 24th installment date too, here’s the straight answer as of 27 September 2026. The government hasn’t announced it yet. What we do know is when the last one came, why October is the likely window, and what you should check today so your money doesn’t get stuck when the release does happen.

PM Kisan 24th installment date: what’s official and what isn’t

Nothing official yet. The PM-KISAN portal still carries the 23rd instalment as the latest release and doesn’t list a PM Kisan 24th installment date. ET Now said on 14 September that there was no officially announced date, and Aaj Tak reported on 25 September that the Centre still hadn’t given any update.

Most reports expect October 2026, before Diwali. That’s a media estimate based on the scheme’s pattern, not a government announcement. Aaj Tak gave two reasons. Instalments come roughly every four months, and October completes four months after the June release. The government has also often timed releases around festivals, and the report suggests Dussehra or Diwali as possible occasions.

So if a WhatsApp forward tells you the PM Kisan 24th installment date is fixed for a particular day, treat it as a rumour until the Agriculture Ministry, PIB or pmkisan.gov.in says so. Such forwards sometimes come with links asking for your Aadhaar or bank details. Don’t click them.

How much will you get?

₹2,000 per eligible farmer family, if you’re eligible and your records are in order. PM-KISAN pays ₹6,000 a year in three equal instalments of ₹2,000, straight into Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). There’s no official word of any increase for this instalment.

A quick look back at the 23rd instalment

Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 23rd instalment on 20 June 2026 from Tarakeswar in Hooghly district, West Bengal. According to PIB, more than ₹18,880 crore went to over 9.44 crore farmers, including more than 2.18 crore women farmers. With that release, total disbursement since the scheme’s launch on 24 February 2019 crossed ₹4.46 lakh crore. The Union Budget 2026-27 has allocated ₹60,000 crore for PM-KISAN.

The portal breaks payments into three four-month periods: April–July, August–November and December–March. The 23rd instalment was the April–July 2026-27 payment, so the 24th would be the August–November payment. Counting four months on from 20 June is how reporters arrived at October as the likely PM Kisan 24th installment date. Here’s how many farmers were paid in recent periods, as shown on pmkisan.gov.in:

Period Farmers benefited
Apr–Jul 2026-27 (23rd instalment) 9,44,65,646
Dec–Mar 2025-26 9,46,15,309
Aug–Nov 2025-26 9,35,79,869
Apr–Jul 2025-26 9,71,41,402
Dec–Mar 2024-25 10,06,85,615
Aug–Nov 2024-25 9,59,28,628

Notice the numbers move up and down between periods. Part of that is people dropping out after verification, or getting stuck on eKYC and land records. You don’t want to be in the dropped group, which is why the next section matters more than the exact date.

Three things that decide whether your ₹2,000 arrives

PIB’s June note spells it out: benefits are given once land records are seeded on the PM-KISAN portal, and farmers must link their bank account with Aadhaar and complete eKYC. If any one of these is missing, the payment can stop.

Requirement What it means Where to get it done
eKYC Aadhaar-based identity verification, mandatory for all registered farmers PM-KISAN portal (OTP), PM-KISAN mobile app, or biometric at a CSC
Land seeding Your land record linked to your PM-KISAN registration Through your state’s agriculture/revenue officials
Aadhaar-bank linking Aadhaar seeded in the bank account where DBT is paid Your bank branch

How to complete PM Kisan eKYC

The portal says eKYC is mandatory for PM-KISAN registered farmers. Biometric-based eKYC is available through CSC VLE logins, the PM-KISAN mobile application and state authorised user logins. Aaj Tak also mentions completing it on the portal through OTP. The usual routes look like this:

  1. On pmkisan.gov.in, open the eKYC option, enter your Aadhaar number and verify with the OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number. This works only if your mobile number is linked to Aadhaar.
  2. You can also use the official PM-KISAN mobile app. Download it only from the Play Store listing published by the government, not from a link someone sends you.
  3. Or visit your nearest Common Service Centre with your Aadhaar card. The operator will do biometric (fingerprint) eKYC. There may be a small service fee; confirm it at the centre.

If your PM Kisan eKYC fails because your Aadhaar-linked mobile number is old, get the number updated at an Aadhaar centre first. That’s the most common snag I hear about from relatives.

On bank KYC, Aaj Tak adds a practical tip. Many farmers’ instalments get stuck because their bank account KYC isn’t updated. Ask at your branch whether your KYC is current and whether Aadhaar is seeded for DBT. Your branch may say it’s done when the NPCI mapping is actually pending, so ask specifically about DBT.

How to do a PM Kisan status check

You don’t need an agent for this. A PM Kisan status check takes a couple of minutes on the official site:

  1. Go to pmkisan.gov.in.
  2. Click “Know Your Status” on the home page.
  3. Enter your registration number. If you don’t remember it, use the “Know your registration number” option, which lets you find it using your mobile number or Aadhaar details.
  4. Fill in the captcha and verify with the OTP sent to your registered mobile.
  5. Check the screen. It shows your eKYC status, land seeding status, Aadhaar-bank seeding status and the instalments paid so far.

If any of those show “No” or “Pending”, that’s your to-do list. The portal also offers the Kisan eMitra chatbot for queries, and the Department asks farmers to check their eligibility status through Know Your Status or the chatbot.

Do a PM Kisan status check now, not on release day. When a release happens, lakhs of people try at once and the site can get slow.

Checking the PM Kisan beneficiary list for your village

The PM Kisan beneficiary list shows village-wise names of farmers covered. On pmkisan.gov.in, look for the Beneficiary List option under the farmers’ section, then pick your state, district, sub-district, block and village. You’ll get the list of names for that village.

Your name being on the PM Kisan beneficiary list is a good sign, but it doesn’t guarantee payment on its own. eKYC, land seeding and Aadhaar-bank linking still have to be complete. The Know Your Status page is more useful for your own account; the village list is handy for checking on elderly parents or neighbours who aren’t comfortable with phones.

Why some farmers’ payments are on hold

The portal carries an important note that many people miss. The Department has identified suspected cases that may fall under the scheme’s exclusion criteria. Two examples it gives are farmers who acquired land ownership after 1 February 2019, and cases where more than one family member is getting the benefit, such as both husband and wife, or an adult member and a minor. Payments in such cases have been temporarily withheld until physical verification is done.

For PM-KISAN, a “family” means husband, wife and minor children. So if both spouses registered separately, expect trouble. Frankly, I think the scheme’s design here is sensible; one payment per family is the rule, and duplicate claims only slow things down for everyone.

The exclusion list also covers higher-income categories. Institutional landholders; current and former holders of constitutional posts, ministers, MPs, MLAs, mayors and district panchayat chairpersons; serving or retired central and state government employees (except multi-tasking staff/Class IV/Group D); retired pensioners with a monthly pension of ₹10,000 or more (with the same exceptions); anyone who paid income tax in the last assessment year; and registered professionals such as doctors, engineers, lawyers, chartered accountants and architects in practice. If one of these applies to your family, you’re not eligible, even if you own farmland.

A simple money plan for the ₹2,000

This one’s illustrative. ₹2,000 won’t change a farm’s finances, but spent without a plan it vanishes in the Diwali rush. My uncle splits it roughly in half, keeping about ₹1,000 aside toward rabi seed and fertiliser and using the rest for household festival costs. Over a full year, the three instalments add up to ₹6,000. That can cover a meaningful chunk of input costs for a small plot, or a premium payment on a crop or life insurance policy if you have one. It helps to decide before the SMS arrives, because once it lands the festival list tends to win.

PM Kisan 24th installment date FAQ

Has the government announced the PM Kisan 24th installment date?

No. As of 27 September 2026 there’s no official date. Media reports expect it in October, before Diwali.

Will farmers get ₹2,000 or ₹4,000 this time?

₹2,000 is the standard instalment. There’s no official announcement of a higher amount.

My 23rd instalment didn’t come. Will I get it with the 24th?

Depends on why it stopped. If it was an eKYC, land seeding or Aadhaar-bank issue, fix it first and then check Know Your Status. Pending instalments are generally processed once records are cleared, but confirm your specific case through the portal, the Kisan eMitra chatbot or your block agriculture office.

Can I do PM Kisan eKYC without a CSC visit?

Yes, through the OTP option on the portal or via the PM-KISAN mobile app, as long as your mobile number is linked to Aadhaar.

How will I know the money has arrived?

You should get an SMS from your bank. You can also see instalment details during a PM Kisan status check on the portal.

Is my name on the PM Kisan beneficiary list enough?

Not by itself. eKYC, land seeding and Aadhaar-bank linking also need to be complete.

Can both husband and wife get PM Kisan?

No. It’s one benefit per family, and the Department has put such duplicate cases on hold pending verification.

The PM Kisan 24th installment date will be announced when the government is ready, and there’s nothing you can do to speed that up. What you can control is your eKYC, land record and bank seeding. Spend ten minutes on them this week, and help an older neighbour do the same.
