Big Billion Days 2026: When Your Card Cashback Lands, the ₹4,000 Cap and EMI Fine Print
Most readers who write to us after a sale aren’t asking about the price they paid. They want to know where their cashback is. That question is worth settling before you check out in Big Billion Days 2026, which Flipkart opened to everyone on Friday 9 October. Instant discounts come off the bill straight away. Card cashback, pay-later dues and EMI interest reach you weeks later, on dates you can work out today.
Big Billion Days 2026: what Flipkart has officially said
Flipkart’s press release of 6 October says The Big Billion Days returns “for its 13th edition on October 9”, with “Early Access” from 8 October “for Plus, BLACK and Flipkart credit card members” (Flipkart announcement, 6 Oct 2026). That release does not give an end date, and it does not list bank offers.
| Item | Status on 10 Oct | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Early Access | From 8 Oct for Plus, BLACK and Flipkart credit card members | Flipkart release |
| Sale for all customers | From 9 Oct | Flipkart release |
| End date | Not stated by Flipkart; card-comparison sites citing Axis Bank’s offer terms say 18 Oct | Not confirmed by us |
| Bank partners | Up to 10% instant discount with Axis Bank and ICICI Bank cards | Mint and other reports |
| Per-order caps | Reported: up to ₹1,500 on 9–10 Oct, ₹1,250 from 11 Oct on most products | Not confirmed: we could not open Axis Bank’s offer terms; ICICI’s caps have not been published |
If the reported caps are right, today is the last day of the higher one. On a ₹30,000 order, 10% would be ₹3,000, but the discount stops at ₹1,500 today and at ₹1,250 from Sunday. On a ₹12,000 order, you get the full 10% (₹1,200) under either cap. The payment page shows the actual deduction before you pay, so check it there.
Flipkart Axis Bank card: 5% cashback with a ₹4,000 quarterly ceiling
The Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card earns cashback rather than an instant discount. Axis Bank’s revised card terms (effective 20 June 2025) say you “will continue to earn 5% cashback on Flipkart and Cleartrip; however, the maximum cashback that can be earned per statement quarter is INR 4,000 on Flipkart” (Axis Bank card terms, PDF).
| Flipkart spend in one statement quarter | 5% would be | Cashback actually paid |
|---|---|---|
| ₹60,000 | ₹3,000 | ₹3,000 (₹1,000 of the cap left) |
| ₹80,000 | ₹4,000 | ₹4,000 (cap reached) |
| ₹1,00,000 | ₹5,000 | ₹4,000 (₹1,000 lost) |
The quarter depends on your statement date, not the calendar. For a statement dated the 15th, the terms list the third quarter as 16 September–15 December. A large Big Billion Days purchase can use up the whole cap, leaving nothing for Diwali or December shopping on the same card.
When the cashback actually lands
The same terms say cashback “will be credited within 3 days prior to the next statement generation date”. Axis gives this example: with a statement date of 15 April, cashback on spends from 16 March to 15 April is credited on 12 May.
| Purchase date (statement date 15th) | Statement period | Cashback credited around |
|---|---|---|
| 10 Oct | 16 Sep – 15 Oct | 12 Nov |
| 17 Oct | 16 Oct – 15 Nov | 12 Dec |
That means a 10 October purchase is billed on your 15 October statement, with the full amount due by its due date, while the cashback only arrives on the November statement. Plan to pay the full bill without counting on the cashback. Our credit card billing cycle guide explains statement and due dates.
The terms also exclude some spending from cashback altogether, including “Gold & Jewellery”, “Wallet load”, fuel and rent.
Flipkart EMI and Pay Later: read it as a loan
Flipkart’s headline offers include flat discounts on Flipkart EMI and Pay Later, as reported. Whatever the discount, both are credit products, so the borrower protections of RBI’s Digital Lending Directions, 2025 apply to the regulated lender behind them:
- A Key Fact Statement (KFS) showing the annual percentage rate (APR) must be given before you sign (para 8(i)).
- A cooling-off period of at least one day lets you exit “by paying the principal and the proportionate APR without any penalty”. The lender may keep “a reasonable one-time processing fee” (para 10).
- Disbursement and repayment. The loan is paid into your bank account, apart from the exceptions the directions list, and you repay the lender directly (para 9).
For a “no cost” EMI, compare the product’s price with and without EMI. Look for a processing fee and any GST on the interest portion. Our explainer on no-cost EMI hidden charges walks through a worked example. A late pay-later payment can also show up in your credit report; see how to check your CIBIL score free.
Still not confirmed
- ICICI Bank’s cap and minimum order for the Big Billion Days offer.
- Axis Bank’s offer terms. We rely on reports for the caps and the 18 October end date.
- Whether the Flipkart Axis card’s 5% cashback applies on EMI orders. Some comparison sites say it doesn’t; we could not check that in Axis Bank’s sale terms.
Before your next order, here are the questions readers ask us most.
FAQ
Is the 10% bank discount applied on the full order?
Only up to the bank’s cap. Above the cap you get a fixed rupee amount, not 10%.
When does Big Billion Days 2026 end?
Flipkart’s release doesn’t say. Reports citing Axis Bank’s offer terms give 18 October.
Can I count on the cashback to pay my October bill?
Not if your statement date falls before the cashback is credited. In Axis Bank’s example, cashback is credited three days before the following month’s statement.
Who may find Flipkart Pay Later useful?
It may suit someone who is certain of repaying on the due date. If you aren’t, a missed payment can cost more than the discount saves.
Takeaway: before paying with the Flipkart Axis card during Big Billion Days 2026, check how much of this quarter’s ₹4,000 cashback cap you have already used. Then budget to pay the full October bill without waiting for the cashback.
